What the critics deemed unnecessary and ill-conceived when his company was founded is now required by many vehicle manufacturers. Because of Amatuzio, consumers have improved choices from Big Oil, their vehicles last longer and advanced automotive technologies that would have destroyed yesterday's motor oil are possible.

AMSOIL founder and industry pioneer Al Amatuzio built his company on the same principles that defined his career as a jet fighter squadron commander – excellence, integrity and strong leadership. In 1972, the breakthrough came. AMSOIL 10W-40 Synthetic Motor Oil, the result of years of research and inspired by aerospace technology, became the first synthetic motor oil in the world to meet American Petroleum Institute (API) service requirements. The uniform diameter of synthetic oil polymers allows them to more easily slide over one another. The resultant reduction in friction shows up as more horsepower, torque, reduced internal engine wear and better fuel economy.

1995 Independent Lab Fuel Efficiency Testing of AMSOIL QUALITY-FIRST advanced PAO formulated ULTRA Long Life 35,000-Mile / 1-Year 0W-30 SYNTHETIC Motor Oil showed the oil provided 38% better fuel economy than required for the specification. That was the largest fuel economy increase recorded by the test lab.

  It's ULTRA Low Coefficient of Friction reduces friction so effectively, that virtually none of the engines power is wasted on “drag”. In passenger vehicle performance has delivered up to as much as a 40% increase in fuel economy.

In other words, the auto companies know more about the car than you do,  something economists call asymmetric information.   Economist George Akerlof won a Nobel Prize for his work on asymmetric information  and how it leads to terrible market outcomes. 

 If OEMs indeed think they know what's best for their product,  their lubricants should outperform – or at least meet the performance levels of other products out there. 

 OEMs DO NOT Formulate Their Own Lubricants

OEM Dealership PROGRAM OILS • OEM Dealerships Parts/Service Managers  they're locked into program oils; they must use the oils recommended to them by the manufacturer or lose manufacturers' bonus money.   This is a common practice in business  and is not considered collusion.  The owner of the dealership  receives a rebate to sell the original equipment manufacturer private-labeled premium priced OEM-branded lubricants.

GET THE FACTS ABOUT YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS

In the United States:  The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prohibits OEMs from requiring owners to use their oem-branded genuine oils to maintain their vehicle warranties   unless the item is provided FREE of charge. 

The Federal Magnuson Moss Warranty Act  protects YOUR freedom to choose the brand of parts and lubricants YOU think is best.   It also  protects YOUR right to extend oil change drain intervals BEYOND what's given in your owner's manual WITHOUT fear of voiding YOUR factory warranty. 

U.S. FEDERAL LAW

   It is illegal to tie warranty coverage to  WHICHEVER BRAND of parts or lubricants YOU use.   Manufacturers THAT do so  MUST provide the parts or lubricants FREE of Charge.

   YOU have the freedom to choose how YOU protect YOUR vehicles and equipment, INCLUDING extending oil change drain intervals. 

   Manufacturers CAN NOT DENY warranty coverage  WITHOUT showing the aftermarket part or lubricant CAUSED a failure.
